Eagles Put Twenty on the Board at the AAC Tournament
Kingsport, TN - Reinhardt Baseball showed up in a big way in game two of the AAC Tournament this afternoon. The Eagles were able to put 20 runs on the board flying past the Montreat Cavaliers 20 to 4.
With that many runs, usually, the pitching performance gets overshadowed - but Ethan Foley would get the start and show why he is one of the best pitchers in Reinhardt Baseball history. He pitched five of the seven-inning shortened game and he recorded 5 strikeouts and only allowed three hits. He was relieved by Hal Stelljus and Landon Perkins who both picked up an inning each. Stelljus had three hits and gave up two runs and Perkins only allowed one hit and zero runs.

Offensively, there are too many stats to list, but two of the highlights would be the home runs by Nash Crowell and Will Underwood. Crowell's home run would come early in the game and it was a two-run shot that also brought home Tucker Zdunich. Crowell was 2 for 3 at the plate with 4 runs scored and 3 RBIs.
Underwood's home run was a fifth-inning Grand Slam that scored Lance Dockery, Dylan Lewis, and Jarrett Burney. This was Underwood's first home run of the season and it capped off an inning where the Eagles scored 8 runs to completely put the game away. With the Grand Slam, Underwood led the Eagles with 5 total RBIs.
The Eagles were able to score in bunches throughout the game putting up 3 in the first, 3 in the third, 4 in the fourth, 8 in the fifth, and 2 more in the sixth.
Reinhardt will have to wait and see who their Friday afternoon opponent will be. Montreat will play Bryan on Friday morning with the winner moving on to play the Eagles and the loser going home. The Eagles will play at 4 pm on Friday and that game cam be seen on the AAC Sports Network. With a win, the Eagles will move to the Championship game to face a likely opponent in Tennessee Wesleyan - but there is still a lot of baseball left to decide the championship series.
