McKey Leads the Way for AAC All-Conference Awards

Waleska, GA - The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced the 2024 Football All-AAC Team and Awards on Thursday.

Lee Kirkland of Pikeville is the Offensive Player of the Year, Quincy Robinson of Bluefield is the Defensive Player of the Year, and Tyress McKey of Reinhardt is the Special Teams Player of the Year. Derell Simmons of Kentucky Christian is the Offensive Freshman of the Year, while Dashawn Webster is the Defensive Freshman of the Year. Corey Fipps of Pikeville is the Coach of the Year, and Kelly Scott of Bluefield is the Assistant Coaches of the Year.

The awards were voted on and selected by the football coaches of the AAC.

Along with receiving the AAC Special Teams Player of the Year, McKey was also selected to the 1st Team All-Conference on both the offense and defensive sides.  He was selected as the All-Purpose back for offense and as a kick/punt returner on the defensive side.  McKey had one of the best seasons returning the ball for the Eagles and tied the NAIA record of four touchdown returns from kickoff in a season.

• Zac Lyle, 1st Team All-Conference Offensive Line

• Jamarion Walker, 1st Team All-Conference Running Back

• Jah Colbert, 1st Team All-Conference Running Back

• Tyress McKey, 1st Team All-Conference All-Purpose

• Alex Hanson, 2nd Team All-Conference Kicker

DEFENSE

• Cortez Brown, 1st Team All-Conference Linebacker

• Keon McGhee, 1st Team All-Conference Defensive Back

• Tyress McKey, 1st Team All-Conference Kick/Punt Returner

• Nolan Marshall, 2nd Team All-Conference Defensive Line
