Jackson & Hanson Pick Up AAC Week One POTW Awards

Week 1: AAC Football Players of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Taylor Jackson of Reinhardt is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Football Offensive Player of the Week, while Ethan Walker of Bluefield and Alex Hanson of Reinhardt are the Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.
The league announced the awards on Monday.
This is the first edition of the awards for the 2025 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Sept. 8.
AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Ethan Walker - Bluefield - R-Freshman
- Had 6 total tackles (all solo) in a 31-20 win over Thomas (Ga.).
- Recorded 3 tackles for a loss of 7 yards and had 1 sack.
- This was his collegiate debut.
- This is his first weekly honor of the season.
AAC Offensive Player of the Week
Taylor Jackson - Reinhardt - Graduate Student
- Completed 15-of-24 passes for 247 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 49-35 win over Florida Memorial.
- Rushed for 25 yards on 13 carries with a long run of 15 yards.
- Completed 62.5 percent of passes.
- This is his first weekly honor of the season.
AAC Special Teams Player of the Week
Alex Hanson - Reinhardt - Sophomore
- Went 7-for-7 on PATs in a 49-35 win over Florida Memorial.
- Punted 6 times for 210 yards with an average of 35.0 yards per punt.
- Had a long punt of 46 yards and placed 4 punts inside the 20.
- This is his first weekly honor of the season.
