Week 3: AAC Football Players of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Xavier Malone of Pikeville is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Football Offensive Player of the Week, while Braylon Jones of Reinhardt and Isaac Smith of Pikeville are the Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.
The league announced the awards on Monday.
This is the third edition of the awards for the 2025 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Sept. 22.
AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Braylon Jones - Reinhardt - Junior
- Made 9 total tackles against Southeastern (Fla.).
- Had 4 solo tackles and 5 assisted tackles.
- Had 0.5 tackles for a loss of 1 yard.
- This is his first weekly honor of the season.
AAC Offensive Player of the Week
Xavier Malone - Pikeville - Graduate Student
- Passed for 437 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 37-34 loss at No. 20 Campbellsville (Ky.)
- Completed 37-of-53 passes for a 69.8 completion percentage.
- Recorded his second 400-yard passing game of the season.
- This is his first weekly honor of the season.
AAC Special Teams Player of the Week
Isaac Smith - Pikeville - Freshman
- Accounted for 10 points against No. 20 Campbellsville (Ky.).
- Connected on 2 field goals with a long of 33 yards.
- Went 4-for-4 on PATs.
- Also had 1 tackle.
- This is his first weekly honor of the season.
