Eagles Roll Past Skyhawks in Dominating Fashion
November 8, 2025
Waleska, GA - In a must-win conference game, the Reinhardt University Eagles secured a formidable victory over the Point Skyhawks. The Eagles dominated the game from the start, leading to a halftime score of Reinhardt 41, Point 3. The final score was an impressive Reinhardt 69, Point 10.
Jah Colbert led the offensive charge with 152 rushing yards and 2 crucial touchdowns, contributing significantly to the team's success. Ethan Rice, Ty Jones, Xavier Brantley, Isaiah Payton, Braden Bohannon, and Jayden Ponder also scored touchdowns, showcasing the depth and versatility of the Eagles' offensive lineup. Taylor Jackson threw for 114 yards and scored 2 touchdowns, while Alex Hanson was perfect on field goals and extra points, bolstering the team's score throughout the game. He was 2 for 2 in field goals and 9 for 9 in extra points.
Colbert ended the game with 12.2 yards per carry, with his longest run being a 65-yarder that was just short of the endzone. The Skyhawks were unable to contain Colbert and the slew of running backs that they kept throwing at them all game. Besides Colbert, Payton, Bohannon, and Ponder all had long runs of 65 yards or more. Ponder was the longest at 78 yards and a touchdown!
Freshman wideout Ty Jones had one of the most electrifying plays of the game and maybe the season on a 37-yard pass from Jackson. On a ball that appeared to be thrown a little deep, Jones was able to leap towards the ball around the three-yard line and secure the ball on a remarkable diving catch in the end zone. The catch and touchdown at the end of the first quarter set the tone for several unbelievable plays for the Eagles. (see video clip below)
Defensively, the Eagles were just as formidable. Emmanuel Olaitan's sack, 4 quarterback hits, and Bryghton Peters' interception return for 65 yards were highlights that disrupted the Skyhawks' attempts to rally. Dan'Quavious Cummings was the leading tackler with 6 tackles. Markell Sutton and Damian Deloney each had a sack on the day.
Reinhardt is playing their best football of the season right now, and this should help them as they head into next Saturday, where they will face the University of Pikeville (UPike) at home. This is a pivotal game for the Eagles, serving as the final conference showdown, where the winner will secure the AAC Championship and earn an automatic bid to the NAIA National Playoffs. All eyes in the AAC will be focused on this game. It is also Senior Day at Ken White, which represents the Seniors for all their hard work and dedication to the Eagles Football program.
