Men's Lacrosse Picked to Repeat as SELC D-II Champs
WALESKA, Ga. - Reinhardt University's men's lacrosse team has been picked to repeat as champions of the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference Division II in a poll of the conference's head coaches. The announcement was made last week by the SELC.
"This is a testament to how far the program has come in the past three years," said RU head coach John Snow. "We preach coming to practice everyday and working hard with every guy committing to his role for the betterment of the team. It's all about the team and the success of the team, not individual statistics. It's nice to see their hard work pay off."
The Eagles were the only team to receive four first-place votes in the poll. Also receiving votes were SCAD (1), Palm Beach Atlantic (3), Florida Gulf Coast (3), and Elon (1).
Reinhardt won the South West Division of the SELC Division II ranks last season for the first time and advanced to the SELC Championships. There, the Eagles defeated Charlotte, Charleston, and Kennesaw State en route to the program's first SELC D-II tournament championship.
The Eagles will begin the 2015 campaign Jan. 31 at Georgia Southern.
