Week 2: AAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - Elijah Clark of Reinhardt and Romulo Barreto of Columbia International are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Soccer Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
This is the second edition of the awards for the 2023 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Sept. 11.
AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Elijah Clark - Reinhardt - Senior - Rincon, Ga.
- Recorded 2 shutouts and 14 saves as Reinhardt tied both of its matches.
- Had 5 saves in a 0-0 tie against Life (Ga.).
- Notched 9 saves in a 0-0 tie versus Cumberland (Tenn.).
- This is his first weekly honor of the season.
AAC Offensive Player of the Week
Romulo Barreto - Columbia International - Senior - Salvador, Brazil
- Tallied 4 goals and 1 assist as CIU went 2-0 on the week.
- Netted the game-tying goal and added an assist in a 3-2 win over Campbellsville (Ky.).
- Deposited a hat trick in a 4-1 win over Brewton-Parker (Ga.).
- Had the game-winner in the win over Brewton-Parker.
- This is his first weekly honor of the season.
