Reinhardt Athletics Restructures Volleyball Leadership, Names Corrales Full-Time Men’s Head Coach
March 3, 2026
Waleska, GA - Reinhardt University has announced a restructuring of its volleyball coaching staff, naming Tessa Corrales as the full-time head coach of the men's volleyball program effective immediately. Corrales, who has served as head coach for both the men's and women's teams for the past three years, will now focus exclusively on leading the Eagles' men's squad. As part of the change, Reinhardt has begun a search for a full-time head coach for the women's volleyball program, with the goal of making a hire in the spring to prepare for the upcoming fall season.
Executive Director of Athletics Jonathan Burton had this to say about the restructuring of the programs. " We fully support our volleyball teams at Reinhardt and want to provide the best student-athlete experience we can for our players. That said, I have decided to make a shift within the program. Effective immediately, Tessa Corrales will become the programs full time Men's Volleyball coach. We will now turn our attention to hiring a full-time women's coach. I am thankful and appreciative of Tessa for her willingness to give everything she had to the women's program and help build it as a player, assistant coach, and head coach."
Burton cited a desire to improve coaches' quality of life and to ensure that each program receives focused attention. He also thanked Corrales for her work with the women's team, recognizing her efforts in balancing responsibilities across both programs. Until the new women's head coach is hired, all spring practice sessions and scrimmages for the women's program will be suspended.
Corrales brings continuity and recent success to the men's program as she transitions into the full-time role. A former Reinhardt standout herself from 2017–2020, she has guided the Eagles to notable achievements, including the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference title and a berth in the 2024 NAIA National Playoffs. In that national tournament run, Reinhardt entered as the No. 12 seed, upset No. 4 Ottawa University Arizona, and then exited in a matchup against No. 5 William Penn, marking one of the program's strongest national showings.
The Eagles' current performance further underscores the timing of the move. Reinhardt's men are in the 2026 spring season with a 12–3 overall record and a 6–1 mark in conference play. The team recently entered the NAIA Top 15 at No. 15 following wins over top-rated Benedictine Mesa (Az) and Georgetown (Ky). With Corrales now dedicated solely to the men's side, the program will look to build on that momentum, beginning with its next home match on Wednesday against Erskine College.
Reinhardt officials expect that separating the head coaching duties will benefit both volleyball programs over the long term. The men's team gains a full-time head coach in Corrales at a time of competitive success, while the women's team will soon welcome a new leader charged with organizing off-season preparation and recruiting for the fall.
