Eagles Capture Their 11th Dual Win of the Season at Brewton Parker
Mount Vernon, GA - Reinhardt University overpowered Brewton-Parker 40-3 in a one-sided wrestling dual, winning nine of 10 bouts and piling up bonus points across the lineup. The Eagles used a pair of pins, three technical falls and a major decision to turn the AAC matchup into a runaway.
Reinhardt set the tone immediately at 125 pounds, where Ty Gentry closed out a strong opener with a fall over Timothy Mclean at 6:30 to stake the Eagles to a 6-0 lead. At 133, Lee Camp followed with a dominant technical fall, 17-1 at 4:45, quickly stretching the margin to 11-0. The early surge continued at 141 as Caden McCrary ground out a 4-2 decision, giving Reinhardt three straight wins to open the dual.
The bonus-point barrage resumed at 149 pounds. Garrett Pace needed just 2:06 to lock up a 17-1 technical fall, pushing the Eagles' advantage to 19-0. At 157, Joabe Araujo kept Reinhardt's momentum intact with an 11-6 decision, further distancing the Eagles from the host Barons. By the midpoint of the dual, Reinhardt had complete control, having allowed Brewton-Parker little opportunity to shift the tide.
At 165 pounds, Hayden Santora delivered one of the most lopsided results of the night, rolling to an 18-1 technical fall at 6:10 to make it 27-0. Reinhardt continued to add bonus points at 174, where Nathan Bukovich posted a 14-6 major decision, extending the Eagles' lead to 31-0. The string of wins showcased Reinhardt's depth in the middle of the lineup, with each wrestler adding separation on the team scoreboard.
Brewton-Parker's lone highlight came at 184 pounds, where Zahquel Davis broke through with a 13-6 decision to put the Barons on the board at 31-3. Davis' victory temporarily halted the Reinhardt run, but the Eagles quickly reasserted control in the upper weights. At 197, Aaron Riner needed just 1:35 to secure a pin, pushing the score to 37-3 and punctuating another bonus-point performance for Reinhardt.
Heavyweight Caleb Pruitt closed out the dual in steady fashion at 285 pounds, edging out a 2-1 decision to cap the 40-3 team result. The narrow victory at the final weight class underscored Reinhardt's ability to win both dominant and tight matches over the course of the night.
The Eagles are now 11-3 in their 2025-26 dual matches with just one more to go on Saturday, February 7th, versus the University of Montevallo. The team will travel to Cumberland University on Sunday for the annual Cumberland Phoenix Open as the wrestlers try to improve their standings as the postseason nears. The AAC Tournament will be a couple of weeks after the Montevallo dual and the qualifiers will head to the NAIA Nationals after that. The Eagles have several wrestlers with solid chances to make it to the NAIA Nationals this season.
