Reinhardt Wins Season Opener Over Union 63-59

Barbourville KY- The Reinhardt Eagle women's basketball team won its season opener in a conference match-up on the road versus the Union College Bulldogs 63-59. The Wednesday night contest proved to be a close one with Union being ahead 33-30 at halftime, but with a strong defense, holding the Bulldogs to just 5 point the third quarter, the Eagles came out on top. Reinhardt was currently ranked #4 in the preseason AAC poll and this game makes the Eagles 1-0 in the start of the season. 

Outstanding Performers:

• Julia Craft led the Eagle offense with 16 points, following her was Maria Sanchez Ponce with 12 points. Craft also had 3 steals in tonight's game as well. 
• Tarrah Gibson managed to have the team high in rebounds with 8.
• The Reinhardt defense forced Union to 19 turnovers.
