The Eagles Bring in the New Year with an AAC Win over Union 78-49
Waleska, GA - The Reinhardt Eagle women's basketball team brings in the new year with a win over the Union College Bulldogs 78-49. This is the Eagles and Bulldogs second-matchup of the season where Reinhardt took the victory 63-59 in their first AAC game of the season. This game was a physical one where the Eagles were up just 30-26 at halftime. Thanks to an electric second-half from Reinhardt, scoring 27 points in the 3rd and 21 in the 4th, the game was no longer a close one. Scoring was spread out for the Eagles, with 4 players having double digits. Maria Sanchez Ponce came off the bench and score 15 points, while Summer Cramer was closely behind with 14. This is Reinhardt's 13th straight conference win, remaining the only undefeated team left in the AAC. This Reinhardt team is receiving votes in the NAIA Women's Basketball Top 25 Ratings.
Outstanding Performers:
- Maria Sanchez Ponce led the Eagle offense with a solid performance of 15 points. Summer Cramer was shortly behind her with 14. Cramer also led in assists with 6, while Ponce had 3 steals on the night.
- Avanna Preston and Julia Craft each managed to get their hands on 6 rebounds a piece.
