Reinhardt WBALL Clenches Home AAC Win over Johnson 75-58

Waleska, GA – After two losses the Reinhardt Eagle women's basketball team was eager to get back on the court at home this past Saturday, January 21st versus the Johnson (Tenn.) Royals. This was the second match-up between these two teams this season where Reinhardt took the first game 80-65, and this one wasn't any different. Both teams started off slow with the score being just 5-4 with 3 minutes left in the first quarter. The Eagles then began to pick it up and ultimately clenched the AAC win 75-58. Maria Sanchez Ponce played a great game for her team, recording a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Behind her was Ashley Woodroffe with 15 and Julia Craft with 14 points. Reinhardt is currently sitting at 2nd in conference with a strong AAC record of 15-2.
Outstanding Performers:
- Maria Sanchez Ponce led the Eagle offense with a strong performance of 16 points, while Ashley Woodroffe had the second-highest with 15.
- Ponce and Tarrah Gibson took charge of the boards for their team with 11 rebounds a piece.
- Ponce and Julia Craft each had 3 steals on the night.
- Summer Cramer, Woodroffe, and Craft each led in assists with 3.
- Tarrah Gibson had 2 blocks.

This is the second match-up between the Eagles and Cavaliers, where Reinhardt took the first game 65-52. Montreat is currently ranked 5th in the AAC with a 11-5 record, while Reinhardt is ranked 2nd with a 15-2 record.
