Eagles Travel to TMU to Get a 3-1 WIN Over the Bears
Cleveland, GA – The Reinhardt Eagles traveled to their neighboring school to face the Truett McConnell Bears. Despite losing the first set, the Eagles battled back hard and gained momentum to take the next three sets over the Bears. (3-1; 21-25, 25-13, 25-16, 25-19)
Outstanding Performers:
- Offensively, Katherine Perrin led in kills with 11, Perrin hit a .280. Emma Ponkova followed closely with 10 kills& hit a .625. Caroline Curry and Allison Selway had 8 respectively.
- Claudia Klein ended the match with the squad-high of 15 digs, while Alma Vazquez Nunez chipped in 14. Nunez also had 2 service aces.
- Maria Piliposyans stood strong at the net, totaling 5 blocks.
- Maria Cordova threw up 24 assists and added 10 digs and 5 kills in the match as well.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Reinhardt women's volleyball team led in every statistical category as a team, and the scores from sets 2-4 showed.
- The Eagles totaled 49 kills for a .256 hitting percentage, while the Bears of TMU had 36 kills and a .083 hitting percentage.
- The Eagles led 9-3 in aces, 41-34 in assists, and out-dug the Bears 67-64.
- The Reinhardt Eagles also led in blocks with 15 to TMU's 7.
- Lastly, Reinhardt earned 66 points to Truett McConnell's 44.
UP NEXT: Next for the Eagles, they will be having back-to-back home games versus the Columbia College Koalas on Friday, October 7th, at 6:30pm. Then the next day, the Eagles will be matching up against the Rams of Columbia International on Saturday, October 8th, at 4pm.
