The Eagles Secure Convincing 3-0 Victory Over Montreat
Waleska, Ga. - In a dominant display offensively & defensively, the Reinhardt University women's volleyball team secured a straight-set victory against the Montreat College Cavaliers in their AAC conference volleyball match on Friday night in front of thier home crowd.
From the onset, the Eagles established a commanding presence on the court, outperforming the Cavaliers in consecutive sets. The first set saw Reinhardt take a decisive lead with a score of 25-13. They maintained this momentum into the second set, closing it at 25-15. The third set mirrored the second, with the Eagles once again overpowering the Cavaliers with identical scoring.
Key contributors to the victory included Jenna Smith, who led the team with 12 kills and also recorded 2 blocks. Juliette Baffico followed with 7 kills and 3 aces, showcasing the all-round strength of the Eagles. Top defensive plays came from Silvia Aguado with 12 digs, alongside her remarkable contribution of 3 aces. Ashlynn Barnes was instrumental in facilitating the offensive plays, amassing a high of 23 assists during the match.
With this win, the Eagles have enhanced their season record to 12-4 overall, remaining undefeated in the conference at 4-0. Looking ahead, Reinhardt University will host Truett-McConnell in another home game scheduled for Saturday, September 27th, at 1pm. The team aims to leverage their current form to secure another critical conference victory.
