Baseball team suffers setback at West Georgia, plays AAC game at Bryan this Friday after Wednesday's contest at Truett-McConnell postponed
West Georgia scored once in the bottom of the third inning, twice in the fifth, once in the sixth and four times in the seventh.
The Wolves finished with a slight 9-8 advantage in hits but Reinhardt was guilty of six errors to UWG's two. West Georgia left nine runners on base and the Eagles eight.
For Reinhardt, Josh Wilson went 2-for-3 with a walk while Jay Huffman ended 2-for-4 with the club's lone extra-base hit, a double.
The Eagles used six pitchers in the contest. Taylor Smith got the start and took the loss after pitching half of the game. In four innings of work, he allowed two earned runs with three strikeouts.
Reinhardt is 10-18 overall while the Wolves are 9-19. The Eagles' non-conference game on Wednesday at 3 p.m. against the Truett-McConnell College Bears in Cleveland, Ga., has been postponed due to rain and wet field conditions with no make-up date yet announced. Reinhardt is back in action this Friday when playing an Appalachian Athletic Conference contest at the Bryan College Lions. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Dayton, Tenn.
