Solorzano signs to attend Reinhardt, play baseball for Eagles
Solorzano, the son of Jesse and Amy Solorzano, was a member of Woodstock's varsity team the past two seasons, playing in Region 5-AAAAA. The switch-hitting Solorzano threw out 55 percent of potential base stealers in 2011 after being injured during his junior season. A fine student, he was the male recipient of the Optimist International honor as a senior at WHS. This summer, Solorzano is playing for a Windward Braves 18-and-under travel team.
"I've always heard great things about Reinhardt and when I first started the rigorous process of being recruited, I always thought that I'd love to be a Reinhardt Eagle," Solorzano said. "I feel that Reinhardt is a great place to better myself academically and athletically. The campus is beautiful, and the field is top-of-the-line."
Solorzano chose Reinhardt after making visits to NCAA Division II applicant Young Harris College and NCAA Division III member Piedmont College, along with Darton College and Andrew College, which are both two-year institutions.
