Point Holds Eagles to Just Three Hits in Game One

West Point, GA - The Eagles have played a lot of baseball to start this 2022 season and it has started off like a roller coaster ride. The team is very talented with both pitching and hitting, however at times, the team can have costly errors or a single bad pitch that costs them games that they most likely would have won. The Point series would be a chance to get things going back in the right direction.
The game would start with good pitching from both sides as each would go scoreless the first three innings. Ethan Foley would get the starting job for the Eagles in this one and he would pitch six innings. Over those six innings, he would have 6 strikeouts and give up 9 hits in the game. Andrew Herbert would relieve Foley in the seventh inning and pitch two scoreless innings, strikeout 6 and just allow two hits. It was not a bad night pitching as the Eagles would hold the Skyhawks of Point scoreless in six of the eight innings they faced batters.
The Eagles ran into problems in the bottom of the fourth inning where Point put a couple of guys on base from two hits to start the inning. A wild pitch scored one of the runs and then another hit brought home another run. It was a 2-0 Point lead at the end of four. In the bottom of the fifth, the Eagles would give up another two hits to start the inning. The Skyhawks were able to manufacture runs in this inning as they knocked in both players who got the hits to start. The fifth inning would end with another two runs and a 4-0 lead. Reinhardt would not give up anymore runs after this fifth inning.
Tucker Zdunich, Williams Underwood, and Jarrett Burney would get the three hits for the Eagles in this game, but none of them would be able to score any runs. Even though this game ended in a defeat, 4-0, the Eagles still have a chance to win the series. They play Point again at 1 pm and 4 pm and they will look to rebound from the game one defeat. Look for the Eagles to turn things around and pick up two games tomorrow to get them back on track.
