Eagles Make It Five Straight with Road Win at Brewton-Parker
Mt Vernon, GA - RU Baseball was back on the road one day after putting 19 runs on the board in the final game of the Southeast Rumble. The Eagles are really hot right now and everything seems to be headed in the right direction.
The Eagles were facing Brewton-Parker for this single, midweek game. Reinhardt would come out victorious in the matchup winning 10 to 7 and moving their winning streak to five games.
Nash Crowell and Shayne Campbell would lead the Eagles in hitting with Crowell going 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs and scoring 4 runs. Campbell would go 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs and scoring one run. Both had solo home runs in the game with Campbell's coming in the second and Crowell's coming in the Seventh. Richard Castro would have a home run as well for the Eagles coming in the second inning which also scored Jarret Burney. Lance Dockery would keep his hot bat going as well going 2 for 5 in the game.
Hal Stelljes would get the start in the game and would have a pretty good outing. He went 7 innings allowing just one run and scattering the seven hits over the innings pitched. He did give up one run which was a home run in the second inning. After this, he had almost five innings of scoreless baseball.
After Stelljes left the game in the seventh inning, he would be followed by Cobey Allison who got in one inning and allowed two runs and Hunter Paulsen who had some trouble giving up four runs. Ethan Foley would be called into the game to gt the final two outs of the game and secure the fifth win in a row for the Eagles.
Reinhardt will be back at home this Friday and Saturday for the weekend matchup with AAC opponent St. Andrews. Friday's game starts at 4 pm and Saturday's doubleheader starts at 1 pm with the second game starting roughly 4:00 to 4:30 pm.
