Eagles Wrap Up the Regular Season with a Sweep of Milligan and a Second Place AAC Finish!

Waleska, GA - Eagles make another late-inning comeback against Milligan to SWEEP the series and secure a 2nd Place finish in the AAC! The game was very similar to game two of the series where the starting pitching had the Eagles' offense silent for several innings and then it opened up to a multi-run game.  Reinhardt would take game three of the series 12 to 7 as they start to prepare for the postseason play.

It was again the sixth inning where the Eagles would finally get on the board and it did not take long for them to catch Milligan who had a 5-0 lead after the top of the sixth.  Dawson Johns had two doubles and Lance Dockery had a triple to help the Eagles offense to get going. Milligan did have a few fielding, throwing, and pitching mistakes that helped the Eagles catch back up, but Reinhardt also had several timely hits that helped them get back into the game.

The Eagles did not take the lead until the eighth inning on a single by Jarrett Burney which scored Richard Castro and Jamel Rookard. After this, the Eagles opened things up some with a single by Jacob Profit and one of the doubles by Johns. After the sixth inning, the Eagles were able to put 12 runs on the board and 13 total hits for the game.

Parker Miller would get the start for the Eagles in the game and he would get in three innings of work before being pulled for Hal Stelljus.  Miller would give up four runs from five hits in his three innings and Stelljus gave up a single run in his inning. In total, the Eagles would use six pitchers with Jordan Hampton, Will Casel, Blake Rogers, and Cobey Allison. Each one pitched a single inning.

The Eagles will have several days off before the AAC Tournament starts. The team has a first-round bye because of their second-place finish in the conference. Reinhardt will play the winner of the Point vs Columbia International. The Wednesday game for the Eagles should start at 3 pm if the tournament is able to stay on schedule.
