MONTGOMERY, Ala. – (Watch | Listen | Stats) Conference play continues for the 10th-ranked Eagles on Saturday as they make a return trip to Alabama to take on the Eagles of Faulkner (Ala.) at 2 p.m. CDT/3 p.m. EDT inside the Cramton Bowl.
Reinhardt leads the all-time series, 5-1, including winning the last four in-a-row.
The two teams played back on Feb. 13 – in a non-divisional matchup – where the hometown Eagles opened the schedule inside Ken White Field at University Stadium with a 34-10 victory over Faulkner.
Since that afternoon in Waleska, both Reinhardt (5-0) and the host Eagles (3-1) haven't tasted defeat on the gridiron.
Most recently for Faulkner, who is coming off a bye week, the Eagles collected two fourth-quarter interceptions that helped hold off Kentucky Christian for a 38-22 victory. Faulkner compiled 402 yards of total offense in the game, averaging nearly 5.6 yards per play while possessing the ball for more than 32 minutes.
The Eagles converted 9-of-16 third downs and twice on fourth down in the effort, helping them to score in six out of seven red zone trips.
Reinhardt used a 21-point third quarter to overcome the visiting St. Andrews (N.C.) Knights on Homecoming last Saturday by a score of 42-14. Billy Hall started the game off in a huge way as he connected with Dylan Kelly for a 73-yard touchdown on the Eagles' first play of offense.
Hall completed nine passes for 192 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for 44 yards on five carries.
In total, Reinhardt had 395 total yards of offense with 203 coming on the ground.
Kellen Neal led the charge on defense for the Eagles with four solo tackles and three assisted stops. Jon Perry also had seven total tackles (two solo and five assisted) and a forced fumble.
Keyovione Whitlock had a nice day with six total tackles, a fumble recovery and a touchdown. Teon Burroughs had six tackles and the interception that he nearly took back for a score.
Twelve other Reinhardt players put up at least three total tackles on the day.
