Eagles Football Kicks Off the Season on the Road at Faulkner

Waleska, GA - Coach Miller and his crew have been preparing for this Thursday since the 2021 season ended last year. Reinhardt Football will kick off the 2022-23 fall season on the road where they will visit the Faulkner Eagles in Montgomery, AL. 

The Eagles will be on the radar of all the opponents this season as they are preseason ranked #9 in the country. Faulkner is ranked as well at #24 so the start of the season will be a battle for sure.

The Eagles are bringing back a stout defense with power and speed. The defensive backfield is full of speed and great cover corners. The combination of Tylan Oglesby, Tyler Hallum, Trisstan Weddington, and Cameron Brooks will most definitely be a nuisance to the opposing side receivers. Keyovione Whitlock and Kellen Neal at the safety position will round out the solid defensive backfield for Defensive Coordinator, Coach Greg Blue.

Kenneth Lowery, Jalen Everett, and Bryce Atchison will seal up the middle for the Eagles as starting linebackers and seniors, Jon Perry and Zaryon Stubbs will show the speed and power coming off the ends. The bulk in the middle will be filled by defensive tackles, Vertez Shorter, Quaheim Glasgow, Amerie Williams, and Jalen Cannon.

The offense will be guided by the new Offensive Coordinator, Chet Pobolish, who is supposed to be bringing a fast-paced, high-energy offense that should have the defenses in the AAC scrambling.  Graduate Student, Hunters Arters, will be leading the offense as quarterback going into his fifth year at Reinhardt. This will be his first year starting, however, he has plenty of experience, and just being around the program that long should give him plenty of composure and confidence to lead this talented offense.

The Eagles have just as much speed and power on the offensive side with notable players like wide receiver Navarie Solomon and preseason All-American candidate, John Cano, who will be holding down the left side Tackle for the Eagles. Louis Morris and Devyn Collins will get the start at the running back spots and both have a good combination of speed, quickness, and power.  With Coach Pobolish's offense, it should be exciting to see these athletes go and make plays.

The kick-off game is on Thursday evening at 6 pm EST and can be seen on the live broadcast link on reinhardteagles.com.  The Eagles' first home game will be a noon kick-off with Bethel University on Saturday, Sept. 3rd.
