Home Opener for Eagles Football
Waleska, GA - After coming off the season opener victory against Faulkner last Thursday evening in Montgomery, Alabama. It was a good start for Coach Miller and his team as they came out roaring in the first half putting 27 points in the first half. The offense stalled some in the second half, but the defense did their job to hold on to the week one victory, 34-27.
This week is the home opener at Ken White Field and Bethel University who come in just outside the NAIA Top 25, but they will most likely drop in sometime during the season. The Wildcats of Bethel University won their opening game this past Saturday, 70-7, over Arkansas Baptist. There is no doubt that this will be a great game where both offenses can put up points. The Eagles defense is strong, fast, and powerful and will be set to slow down the Wildcats.
Devyn Collins was just shy of 100 yards in last week's game and he was a workhorse holding Faulkner's offense on the sidelines while the Eagles ran out the clock. Look for Collins, Navarie Solomon, and Hunter Arters to put the numbers up on the board as Jon Perry, Vertez Shorter, and others shut down the offense of Bethel.
The game is this Saturday, September 3rd, with a noon kickoff. Come out and support the Eagles as they open up Ken White Field at University Stadium for the 2022-23 football season. Tickets available on www.reinhardteagles.com
