Coastal Georgia Holds Off Reinhardt

BRUNSWICK, Ga. - Reinhardt trailed the Mariners of Coastal Georgia (GA.) to finish with a final score of 79-80 leaving the Eagles to open their season with a loss.
The Eagles shot 30-66 from the field goal and 8-14 from the free throw line falling short of 51% to the Mariners 78.9% from the line.
As the Eagles fell behind the Mariners, they found their zest moving into the second half out-scoring Costal Georgia 44-29. Josh Press and TaFari Thomas led the offense, both with 13 points. Tyler Smith led the Eagles defense with 7 rebounds and 11 points. Moses Jones kept the Eagles moving with 10 points.
As the fight continued, Jamison Syphore came off the bench with high energy, while dropping 9 points and 3 rebounds. The Eagles did not stop fighting as Jones came in strong with 00:02 seconds left in the second half and made a three pointer, to end the game 79-80.
Despite the loss, Reinhardt hopes to even their record early on in the season. Reinhardt Men's Basketball will face the Phoenix of Cumberland University (TN.) on November 4th for their Home Opener at the Brown Athletic Center.
