WALESKA, Ga. – Men's soccer notched another tally in the win column against non-conference opponent Faulkner (Ala.), 2-0, Wednesday night under the lights at Ken White Field at University Stadium.
The perfect start to the season for the Eagles continues as they are 5-0.
"Each match in this young season is an opportunity to learn and develop as a team," head coach Joey Johnson said. "It was a challenging game tonight against a talented Faulkner squad, and I was pleased with the effort from our players for 90 minutes."
The hard-fought battle was scoreless in the first half, but after slightly altering the game plan, Reinhardt found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead (and the match-winning shot) compliments of Min Lee from a nice cross off the foot of Blake White.
Time would go by with the score remaining the same, as the visiting Eagles didn't have enough firepower to get on the scoreboard. Gus Fidler would ease the tension in the stadium by doubling his squad's advantage at 85:47.
Sergio Cristaldo earned the assist on the Fidler header for a score.
The host Eagles finished the win with a 17-7 lead in shots, and defensively, Niko Tzevelekos made four saves in 90 minutes of action in the goal.
It's back to conference action on Saturday afternoon against the Royals of Johnson (Tenn.) at home.
Opening whistle is set for 4:30 p.m.
