A recent press release in nearby Chattanooga, TN has confirmed that Reinhardt men's soccer graduate, Taylor Gray has elected to continue his professional career with Chattanooga FC under newly appointed head coach Rod Underwood. He becomes the second Reinhardt player to sign professionally with CFC in the past 3 seasons following NAIA All-American goalkeeper Torge Weidenroth.
Gray, a youth product developed within the MLS DC United Academy program had a standout career at Reinhardt as an AAC All-Conference 1st team selection and AAC Champion. While at RU, he was a standout player at the USL2 level which is the highest amateur level of play in the USA. His dynamic and creative attacking play mixed a lethal combination of speed and technical ability which proved challenging for opponents. Upon graduation from Reinhardt, Taylor signed professionally in Maryland and has continued to develop as a player with a bright professional future ahead of him.
Coach Joey Johnson had this to say about his former player, " I am happy to see Taylor sign professionally with a club locally as it gives us the opportunity to support him and watch him continue his path of development at the next level. It is important that we have a framework of standards and professionalism here within our program at RU that allows for young men to pursue their full potential on and off the field. I appreciate how many of our men's soccer alumni who have gone on to higher levels of the game as both players and coaches are using that platform to impact others in a positive manner."
