Eagles Shutout Johnson In Knoxville
Knoxville, TN - Eagles Soccer was on the road Saturday for an AAC matchup against the Royals of Johnson University. The Eagles were coming off a tough come-from-behind loss to Union last weekend and another defeat during the week to Dalton State. Reinhardt was looking to put those losses behind them and pick up a much-needed conference win.
Niko Tzevelekos and Elijah Clark combined in goal for a 3-0 shutout of the Royals. Tzevelekos started and played a majority of the game and picked up the win in goal for the Eagles. Tzeveleoks had three saves in the game. With the win, the Eagles go to 2-1-1 in the AAC and 3-4-1 overall.
First Half
Pavel Dashin would get the scoring started early for the Eagles as he put one in the back of the net in the ninth minute of the game. Maxime Correia assisted Dashin on his goal. After some play with the score 1-0 Eagles, Dashin would get his name on the scoreboard once more as he scored his second goal of the game in the thirty-second minute from an assist from Raphael Mospanyuk.
The Eagles would enjoy the 2-0 lead at the halftime break.
Second Half
In the second half, the teams would hit a stalemate for the first twenty-six minutes of the half. Around the seventy-second minute, midfielder, Anthony Robledo, would get his first goal of the game on another assist by set-up man, Maxime Correia.
The Eagles had a total of 33 shots on goal in the game. 13 shots in the first half and 20 in the second half which kept Johnson's goalkeeper and defense busy. Johnson would only have 5 total shots in the game and only 3 of those were on target which were saved by Tzevelekos. Only one yellow card was shown in the game which went to a player for the Royals.
