The Eagles Earned 2 More WINS Over the Weekend Over Bluefield & Carolina
Cleveland, Ga. - Reinhardt played two games over the weekend in dominant fashion, at the Harris Athletic Complex in Cleveland, Ga., with a 3-0 win over Carolina University on Feb. 14 and a 3-1 victory over Bluefield (Va.) on Feb. 13. The Eagles dropped only one set across the two matches, riding efficient attacking and aggressive serving to control play throughout the weekend.
In the first match, Reinhardt rallied from an opening-set loss to defeat Bluefield 22-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-23. The Eagles finished with 45 kills, 8 aces and 44 digs while hitting .204, edging a Bluefield squad that tallied 42 kills, 4 aces and 40 digs with a .198 attack percentage. After a tight first set in which Bluefield closed behind timely kills and a late service run from Kari Williams and Mason Lloyd, Reinhardt responded with three straight sets behind improved side-out efficiency and balanced offense.
Aniolczyk led the way in the second match, registering 15 kills on 31 swings and 3 aces for a match-high 19.0 points. His attacking and serving helped Reinhardt take control in the second and third sets, including a key run in the 25-18 second frame and sustained pressure in a 25-16 third set that Bluefield could not match. Gutierrez added 10 kills and 7 digs for 11.5 points, while Decklan Fongbemi contributed 7 kills, a block and 8.0 points to give the Eagles multiple options at the net.
Across the doubleheader, Reinhardt amassed 75 kills, 22 aces and 74 digs while dropping only one set, showcasing both offensive firepower and depth in the serve game. With Forcina and Aniolczyk leading from the pins and a supporting cast contributing at the net and on defense, the Eagles established early momentum at the Harris Athletic Complex and set a strong tone for the rest of their schedule.
In the game against Carolina, Reinhardt rolled to a 25-7, 25-14, 25-21 sweep, finishing with 30 kills, 14 aces and a .349 attack percentage. The Eagles set the tone from the service line and never allowed Carolina to gain rhythm, holding the visitors to a .048 attack percentage and just 16 kills. Reinhardt also held a 30-19 edge in digs and outblocked Carolina 3-1, limiting second-chance opportunities and transition points.
Andrea Forcina powered Reinhardt's attack in the first match with a match-high 9 kills on 12 swings with only one error, adding 5 service aces to total 14.5 points. Her serving fueled multiple scoring runs in both the first and second sets, where Reinhardt built double-digit leads and closed out comfortably. Juan Miguel Nino Bonilla added 5 kills and an ace, while Jakub Aniolczyk chipped in 2 aces to extend the Eagles' pressure from the back line.
Reinhardt's depth showed throughout the 3-0 result. In the opening set, the Eagles surged ahead early and closed on a dominant run that featured aces from Forcina and Gabriel Gutierrez, along with multiple kills from Denny Martinez and Pedro Motta Charamba, to finish off a 25-7 win. Set 2 followed a similar pattern as Forcina's serving runs and attacking helped build and maintain a double-figure margin in a 25-14 decision. Carolina pushed back in the third, staying within reach late, but Reinhardt maintained control behind key kills from Nino Bonilla before a Carolina attack error ended the match at 25-21.
Up next, the Eagles will be playing in an away match against Warner on Feburary 19th, at 7pm.
