Eagles Place Four at Cumerlands Open
Williamsburg, Ky. - Reinhardt University Men's Wrestling team opened the 2025-26 season with a great showing at the Pepsi Patriot Open, hosted by the University of the Cumberlands. The young Eagles squad was able to place four of their wrestlers as the team moves into a new era of wrestlers.
Transfer sophomore Nate Bukovich was the highest finisher for the Eagles, coming in 2nd place overall in the 174 weight class.
One of last year's star newcomers, Garrett Pace, was able to take 3rd place in the 149 weight class. The sophomore from Rockmart, Georgia, will be counted on to help this young wrestling squad this season.
Two freshman wrestlers were able to place as well. In the 125 weight class, where the Eagles usually are very strong, Karmel Thompson placed 3rd overall.
Fellow freshman Maddox McCarther from Buford High School was able to place 5th in the 141 weight class.
Last year's NAIA participant & AAC Freshman of the Year, Lee Camp, had a medical withdrawal after going 2-1 in his matches. Camp has moved up to the 133 weight class this season.
The Eagles will take on Southeastern University this Saturday at 11 am at The Brown!
