Martinet, Teems, & Loveless Recognized as 2022 NFCA NAIA All-Region Honorees
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced the 147 student-athletes from 62 schools who comprise the 2022 NFCA NAIA All-Region teams. The Eagles had three representatives on the teams for the NAIA division. Jill Martinet and Alexis Teems made the 1st Team NFCA All-Region and Emily Loveless made it on the 2nd Team NFCA All-Region. This is a huge honor for these three great Reinhardt Athletes and the Eagle Nation is very proud of them and the Eagles Softball Team.
Emily Loveless was the backbone of the team all season before having to, unfortunately, miss the last few games of the season. Her leadership at the start got the Eagles going on a winning note and helped pull them through some adversities. She always comes up with the big play on the field and at the plate when the team needs it. She was definitely missed in those last few games.
Alexis Teems came in as a freshman and took over the center field position. She is built for speed whether it is on the base pads or out in the field running down a line drive. She has to be one of the fastest players in all of the NAIA and the Eagles Nation is glad that we have her on our side!
Jill Martinet was a rock for the Eagles Softball Team from the beginning to the end. She is a born leader and whether she is playing her normal spot at first base or filling in at third - Martinet always gets the job done. At the plate, she is always a threat to knock the longball out of the park. A native of California, Martinet made her way to North Georgia to become a leader and solid performer for the Eagles Softball Program.
The season came to a close a few weeks ago after coming up a little short in the competitive AAC Tournament, but both the teams that gave the Eagles their two losses of the tournament ended up facing each other in the championship game. The team had a great season and have a lot of youth that gained experience this season. Look for them to continue on that growth in the 2023 season and compete for the AAC title and move on to NAIA Nationals.
