Eagles End Regular Season with Sweep at Milligan; Hight Hits Two Home Runs!
Milligan, Tenn. - Reinhardt Softball played their final series of the 2025 spring softball season on Friday. Game one went in favor of the Eagles in blowout fashion behind the arm of Anslie Pettit. The Eagles won 9-1 in the five-inning, run-shortened game. Game two was slightly closer at 3-1 Eagles, but they took care of business, getting enough runs for the pitching staff to do their jobs. Reinhardt currently has a record of 26-8 overall and 23-5 in conference play.
Game One
Game one was marked by outstanding contributions from several Eagles players. Ansley Hight was a standout, delivering a remarkable performance with two home runs and driving in four runs. Taylor Wade contributed significantly with three RBIs and scored twice herself. Hight was 3 for 3 in the game with four RBIs. She has 12 home runs on the season and leads the AAC. Wade was 2 for 3 with two runs scored.
Other notable performances included Maddie Wright, Addyson Garris, and Mallory Lumpkins, who all crossed the plate to build the score.
Eagles' starting pitcher Anslie Pettit delivered an equally impressive show from the mound, recording eight strikeouts and giving up just four hits in a complete game shortened to five innings due to the significant lead established by Reinhardt University. Pettit's performance was a crucial element in the Eagles' commanding win.

Game Two
The Eagles showcased their prowess with key players stepping up in crucial moments. Taylor Wade, Ansley Hight, and Kira Lightner each crossed the plate contributing to the team's total score, while Hight and Molly Stevens powered the offense with crucial RBIs. Molly Stevens was particularly impressive, going 2 for 3 and driving in two runs that were vital in securing the Eagles' victory. Hight recorded one RBI while hitting 1 for 5 in the game.
Pitching was equally strong for Reinhardt with Taylor Haymans taking the mound as the starting pitcher. Haymans displayed excellent form, pitching five innings, striking out one, and limiting the Buffaloes to a mere four hits. Macey Langly and Anslie Pettit came in to finish out the game for the Eagles. Langley recorded a strikeout in her inning and Petting picked up a save finishing out the regular season with a win!

This win boosts the Reinhardt University Eagles' record to an impressive 26-8 for the season, further solidifying their position as strong contenders in the AAC and the NAIA. They currently have the conference lead with a few more series to play out by the other teams before the final standings are set. All the teams will meet in Kingsport, Tennessee in a week and a half for the AAC Tournament, which will have the tournament title and NAIA postseason play on the line.
