Reinhardt can't Handle the Fire of Southeastern

Dayton, Tennessee - Southeastern looked to hold Reinhardt 0-2 at the start of the Eagles season. In the start of the first quarter, the Eagles were forced to pick up their speed as the Fire of Southeastern opened with a 12-3 lead. With the help of Tarrah Gibson, the Eagles came back to a make it a close game of 15-14 which forced The Fire to make turnovers and multiple substitutions. But that was not enough as Southeastern finished the first quarter 22-18.
To open the second quarter, the Eagles walked into a pit of energy they could not match as they went down 20-30. That did not stop the fight from within, as the Eagles kept it tight in the second quarter, finishing 39-43.
The Eagles got the looks they wanted but could not connect with the goal. Throughout the remainder of the game, Reinhardt was outscored 21-14 in the third quarter and 28-23 in the fourth, ending 76-92 and starting the season 0-2 for the Eagles.
Reinhardt at Southeastern (TN.)
- Catherine Shope held the offense together as she dropped 22 points.
- Brylee Puckett was close behind Shope, ending with 17 points and 9 rebounds.
- Abi Haynes led the team with 8 assists.
The Eagles will stay on the road as they play Brewton-Parker (TN.) this Saturday at 2:00pm.
