Head Coach Roy Reynolds Announces Retirement from Women's Lacrosse

Waleska, GA - On May 22, 2025, Head Coach Roy Reynolds announced his retirement from NAIA Women's Lacrosse. His announcement comes after another successful season for the Eagles with another trip to the NAIA National Tournament.

The Eagles made it to six straight NAIA National Tournaments starting in 2019 under Coach Reynolds (No tournament in 2020 - COVID).  He led the team to the 2024 National Championship behind All-Americans Jillian Mello, Shelby O'Neil, Mia Griswold, Anna Marie Gazzo, Ashley Steele, and KC Bragg.  Reynolds was named the 2024 NAIA Coach of the Year for the Eagles' efforts that season, capped off with the national title.

Reynolds started the women's lacrosse program at Reinhardt University in 2016, where he took the Eagles to a 9-5 season and a second-place finish in the AAC. After this, he proceeded to win nine conference titles, including regular season and conference tournaments combined.  He was named AAC Coach of the Year twice, along with being named NAIA Coach of the Year in 2024.

Over his tenure, he has produced numerous AAC All-Conference players and NAIA All-Americans. He will finish his career with an impressive record of 218-36 at Reinhardt.

Executive Director of Athletics Jonathan Burton had this to say about Coach Reynolds' time at Reinhardt:  "I would like to thank Coach for what he has meant to this program during his time at Reinhardt. Coach Roy is a national champion and has laid the foundation for what a successful lacrosse program looks like. His ability to recruit high-level young women who perform on and off the field will be tough to match, but we are confident we can attract quality applicants. Coach, thank you again for making us better. We wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors."

Reinhardt Athletics would like to thank Coach Reynolds for the time he spent developing and creating an unmatched culture for women's lacrosse program at Reinhardt. He has been an outstanding representative for Reinhardt University, developing and nurturing student-athletes who excel both on and off the field.

The search for a replacement to lead Reinhardt Women's Lacrosse will begin immediately to ensure someone is in place during the summer recruiting period. An announcement will be made as soon as a replacement has been hired.
