COLUMBIA, S.C. – Traffic delays in the Carolinas didn't slow down the Reinhardt Eagles against the Koalas Saturday afternoon in Columbia, as Brian Goodhind and his team earned yet another Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) win in three sets (25-7, 25-12, 25-13).
Reinhardt (17-4, 8-0 AAC) has now claimed a baker's dozen of victories in-a-row.
"The girls played well and together… it was a good team win," Goodhind said. "On to Tennessee Wesleyan."
It was truly a complete-squad effort in the win after the Eagles soared through the match to the final whistle. They were set on the right path after giving up only seven scores in the opening set, and that excitement from the explosive start enabled the depth of the roster to gain some exposure to conference action.
Collectively, Reinhardt outkilled Columbia, 38-13, and dominated in both total assists and digs.
Cheetara Bing had eight kills to lead the way for Reinhardt and Lucy Zhao collected five scores. Carlee
Baxter owned the only two aces for the Eagles, and also was the center of attention from the setter position with 19 assists to go along with 10 digs.
Erinn Marroquin added 10 dimes also.
The calendar turns to October before Reinhardt is back on the court – and on the road – against Tennessee Wesleyan on Oct. 5 at 6:30 p.m.
