WALESKA, Ga. – After overcoming a slow start and an early deficit in set one against Truett-McConnell (Ga.) on Saturday, the Reinhardt Eagles claimed their 20th-consecutive victory in sweeping fashion, 3-0, over the Bears (27-25, 25-16, 25-15).
With the historic triumph, the women's volleyball program improves to 24-4 overall and continues to run through the Appalachian Athletic Conference at 15-0, but Saturday didn't come easy for the home team.
"Today was a tough match with some adversity leading into the match that led to some outside distraction," head coach Brian Goodhind said. "I was very proud of our team fighting through it and regaining their focus. Another good team win… We are looking forward to Senior Night this upcoming Tuesday.

Truett-McConnell started just about as good as it could have by jumping out to a 6-0 and 8-1 advantage to begin the contest. Reinhardt began to gain traction on its deficit, but the Bears pushed its lead back to seven at 18-11.
The Eagles would then storm all the way back to set point at 24-23, but back-to-back errors by Reinhardt hitters put the visitors on the doorstep of a 1-0 lead. The Bears would return the favor, however, after a service error tied the score at 25 – setting the stage for three-consecutive points to win the opening stanza, 27-25.
Faster starts spelled good fortune for the Eagles in both sets two and three en route to the sweeping victory. Tessa Colden was the lone Reinhardt player in double-figure digs with 13. Emily Charbonneau – who had a team-best three aces – was next in line with nine points scored.
Carlee Baxter (31 assists) continued her stellar play from the setter position, and on defense, both Colden and Angel Cornista hit double-digits in digs at 14 and 13, respectively.
