November 3, 2018
By Mike DeVader, Reinhardt Director of Athletic Communications & Media
LAURINBURG, N.C. – For the first time in program history, Reinhardt volleyball finished a season undefeated in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play – 19-0 – and hit the 30-plus win mark for triumphs in a single campaign after taking down St. Andrews (N.C.), 3-0 (25-15,25-13,25-17), on the road.
A widespread offensive attack combined with 22 Knight errors was the right combination for the Eagles to cruise to victory in the 2018 regular-season finale. The team combined to hit .452 in the opening set to provide the tone for the rest of the way.
Tessa Colden – the only player with double-digits kills (10) – was followed closely by Isabelle Diaz (6) and Savanna Davis (6). Defensively, Colden pulled down 10 digs, eight behind the team leader in that category, Kelley Adkins (18).
Carlee Baxter reeled in another double-double with 35 assists and 10 digs.
At the net, Shadaisha Summerall had her hand in three blocks, while Savanna Davis had a pair.
The Eagles combined to hit .278 overall in the win.
The AAC Championship is up next and details about Reinhardt's first opponent will be announced when news is available.
